Ribbon-cutting for Texas Folklife

Come help us cut the big red ribbon to welcome Texas Folklife to Nacogdoches!
Guests can enjoy light bites, explore a Texas Folklife photo tour, and take part in a hands-on storytelling activation where you can share a memory, add to a community prompt, and see how everyday stories become part of the folklife record.
From your host:
Even though our team works across many regions of the state, East Texas has welcomed us with warmth, generosity, and great pride in local history. We are honored to open this satellite office in Nacogdoches and hope the community will join us in marking the beginning of a long relationship rooted in listening, documentation, and shared storytelling.
Guests can look forward to meeting the people behind the work, learning how local traditions may be recorded and preserved, and discovering opportunities to participate in future programs. This office is meant to be a gathering place for artists, culture bearers, educators, and neighbors who care about keeping community knowledge alive. We invite everyone to stop in, introduce themselves, and help shape what Texas Folklife’s presence in East Texas becomes together.
